Wonderful! Wonderful! Copenhagen

IMG_1118 IMG_20160511_112341The second day in Copenhagen was much more relaxed. The site owner appeared with a map of the city and lots of helpful suggestions. His route into town was even quicker, mainly bike routes and not the crowds and busy roads we had experienced the previous day. We cycled to Noma, supposedly the world’s best restaurant. I had, very generously, been given the wherewithal to eat at this restaurant as a leaving gift from Willowcroft School. I had read that there was a waiting list of three months for booking but we asked anyway. Needless to say all I came away with was a photo of me outside the restaurant. We spent the day viewing the fabulous architecture and enjoying the miles of bike tracks on the other side of the river to the main town. We visited Paper Island which has been turned over to a concept called ‘Street Food’. It is a huge indoor food hall with stalls of different foods from all over the world. It is quite amazing. Outside are benches and tables for you to sit and eat at. It was packed not only because of the quality of the food but also the cost was much less than we had generally encountered in Scandinavia so far. We kept local and had the smorgasbord.
